The Seniors' ministry in GCJ was formed to cater for the older generations in the church who are 55 years old and above.
The main focus of the ministry is to assist the senior members to continue to learn more about God through Bible studies and prayers. It encourages and supports them to carry on in ministering to other people using their God-given gifts and talents, and to serve God according to their gift and physical capabilities.
The Seniors group currently conducts Bible studies every Sunday after the church service. Bible studies are sometimes held at members' residences as part of the ministry's outings.
Birthday celebrations of seniors are sometimes used as an opportunity for excursions, with age not being a hindrance from them being adventurous. If weather permits, the seniors sometimes do conduct their care groups in other locations such as a trip to the beach, apple or orange, parks and gardens and even to botanical gardens in the mountains.
Seniors' use the opportunity in their care group to invite friends and families who don't have personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, to come to special events as their way of sharing the goodness of God.
To facilitate the seniors' mobility and meet their obligations, Powercell group members provide transport, thus enabling them to move around and perform the tasks that God has given them.
It is the ministry's desire and passion to provide support for the seniors of the Church and to the wider community to know more about God, and allow them to enjoy and experience God's purposes in their lives.
